Representation of women in administration and civil services very less in Nepal
The Nepal government had made the provision to allocate 33 per cent of seats in state mechanisms to the women where participation has been very less.

The dissolved Constituent Assembly had 32.78 per cent women CA members. Current figures show women’s representation in the executive stands at nine per cent, 11.39 per cent in the civil service and 5.68 per cent in the Nepal Police. A group of women’s organisations, including Forum for Women, Law and Development, has recently filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) at the Supreme Court seeking its intervention to increase women’s representation in the upcoming CA. Only five of the 169 judges appointed this year were women. Five of them were appointed as appellate court judges.
