Activists stage a protest to make rules strong in Nepal
Kathmandu 11 March 2014: Activists stage a protest with the theme “Certainty in justice for
women affected by sexual violence in conflict era:
Government’s accountability, ” at Hanumansthan demanding stronger laws to recognize discrimination against rape victims as
social offense, penalty for
perpetrators, guarantee of the right to study and health services to victims of
rape and sexual violence.
According to the data, There has been 343 cases of rape reported and 58 cases of attempted rape registered where most of the victims are Dalits, poor, single women and young girls.

The campaign is the part of the second phase of a national campaign against rape.
