Lack of research in KMG reporters

The news published by #ekantipur saying #acidattack has just the legal provision of fine of Nrs 2000 and 4 months jail is so wrong. Under no practice this is applicable as Nepal law has no provision for acid attack due to its rare happening but considering the intention and motivation of the incident directly links the case to "attempt to murder". As the attacker clearly attacks the victim with the intention to hurt and damage the victim so it cannot be ignored. Publishing such news with no credible source and randomly search result creates a situation of mistrust and chaos among public which should have been understood by the reporter of ekantipur. Being a prestigious news agency of Nepal the level of journalism practiced by such organization showcases their credibility towards news making process.

Sajina Karki, a practicing lawyer said, "Acid attack is direct attempt to murder case with view of intention. And under nepal's law if proven guilty has a provision of 12 years plus term. Though due to lack of occurance such cases might not have specific association but the serevrity of the incident directly links the case to its sentence and objective. "

To contradicts the news the #Kantipur  has published the same news to be attempt to murder and further the case is in process of being filed under the same provision.

This shows the lack of maturity in ekantipur journalist and how journalists of Nepal play with news making process. Further to make the situation worst movers and shakers edition of Kathmandu post  tries to capitalize the issue spreading a wrong news. The impact of news has resulted in a protest program at Basantapur with the theme of Nepal's legal system has just  a fine of Nrs 2000 and 4 months jail term which is very wrong.

Such level of journalism simply creates a situation of confusion and misleads the people and it should be treated with higher concern as in the past such things has happened .
