264 rape cases reported across the country

It has been reported that 264 rape cases were reported across the country in the past six months. According to a report of Women’s Rehabilitation Centre, Nepal’s, “ There were 264 cases were reported out of which 43 cases of attempted rape came to the light during the period. The victims are mostly Dalit, poor, single women and young girls.


National Alliance of Women Human Rights Defenders in coordination with the National Anti-Rape Campaign had launched a nationwide anti-rape campaign from September 22 to curb such heinous crimes against women. Women rights activists have long blamed the lack of strict laws and impunity enjoyed by criminals.
