10 years jail term slapped for raping a handicap

Dhulikhel:  10 years jail term was slapped to Man Bahadur Pulami of Mangaltar for raping a  hearing and speech-impaired handicapped woman in December last year. The  District court of Kavrepalanchowk comprising   a single bench of district judge Ishworraj Acharya issued the prison sentence along with an order to pay Rs 5,000 in reparation to the victim on Sunday. Police had detained him after a couple of weeks and filed a case. According to the court registrar, Pulami got five years jail term back-to-back for rape and assault on the handicapped person.
