Rape Victim have to face social intimidation in absence of proper rules and regulation

With lack of awareness and knowledge most of the Violence Against Women (VAW) cases are either not reported and the ones which are  reported are also have to face intimation. In one of such incident in rural Nepal, in phidim the victim's mother withdrew the case in view of social pressure. According to the mother she was offered 0.2 million in view of the withdraw of the case.
The victim was a 15 year old girl where the mother-daughter duo work as field laborers.

According  to the mother, Nara Bahadur Yonghang, raped and locked her daughter, Yonghang’s son and a family guest Hemraj Adhikari also raped her, repeatedly.

The case was filed at the District Police Office (DPO), Panchthar, against the planned crime that occurred on last Monday, January 11.A medical examination on the following day of the crime has also proved that the girl was raped, stated the District Health Office, Panchthar.
